Happy New Year (almost)! Fit Family Physical Therapy wants you to crush those “new year, new me” goals! To help you start strong, we’ve rounded up our favorite apps for new year’s resolutions! All of the apps for new year’s resolutions we recommend in this post are ones that our team of private physical therapists and certified personal trainers use in their daily life. We stand by these apps – paid or free – to improve our healthy lifestyles!

How to choose apps for new year’s resolutions?

Choosing lifestyle apps can be overwhelming – so many choices! Everyone’s looking for the next best thing, especially to start the new year on the right foot! Our tips for choosing apps for new year’s resolutions include:

  • Keep it simple – apps with too many features or too much tracking can often be overwhelming and negatively impact your desire to stick to a plan! Sometimes less is actually more.
  • Ask for recommendations – ask like-minded friends and family what they use to simplify their lives or reach their goals! It’s a good place to start and narrow down all of the choices.
  • Don’t be afraid to pay – sometimes a couple dollars per month is just worth it! While we don’t recommend paying for all apps or getting sucked into endless subscription plans, evaluate if paying for an app may make your life easier and if it’s worth it to you! Sometimes paying for an app may keep you MORE consistent because you made an investment and don’t want it to go to waste.
4 Apps for New Year’s Resolutions

Best app for meal prep and organization – AnyList

Is your goal for 2023 to eat healthier, spend less on eating out, save time making meals, or make your grocery shopping trips shorter? Anylist is here to save the day!

With Anylist, available on the App Store and Google Play Store, you can store your favorite online recipes with one click of a “Share” button. This will add the blog recipe to the app, removing the need to scroll through unnecessary details, ads, popups, and pictures, when you just want to make the meal! It also creates a checklist for ingredients and imports all the steps for the recipes. You can also easily scale recipes (because mental math can be tough!) with the click of a button. Create your own virtual recipe book with your favorite online recipes!

Another reason we love this app is that you can easily make grocery lists by checking items needed in each recipe. If you want to share your grocery list with a family member (which we recommend!), you will need to pay for the full version ($15/year). Your grocery trip time savings alone may be worth it! We think using AnyList app for new year’s resolution in the kitchen or organization department, is the best choice for 2023!
